The Process

How to Get Gold Approved

Step 1

Create Your Adopter Profile

Register with your name, contact info, and household details. Takes about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Upload Required Documents

Government-issued ID, proof of address, and landlord permission letter (if renting). Vet reference for existing pets.

Step 3

AWS Reviews & Verifies

Our team reviews your documents within 2–3 business days and verifies each item.

Step 4

Gold Approved + QR Pass

Once all documents are verified, you receive your Gold Pre-Approval badge and a QR pass for same-day ready check-in.

Gold Pre-Screen Notice

AWS Gold Pre-Screen status verifies your readiness as a potential adopter. It is NOT a guarantee of adoption. All adoption decisions are made exclusively by the partner rescue organization. Rescue organizations retain full authority to approve or deny any adoption application based on their own criteria.

Adoption Authority Disclosure

Animal Welfare Society Inc. (AWS) does not adopt out dogs. AWS hosts meet-and-greet events only. All dogs at our events are owned and managed by independent rescue partner organizations. Adoption decisions, applications, fees, and processes are handled entirely by the rescue organization — not by AWS.

Same-Day Take-Home Notice

Same-day take-home of a dog is possible only with the express approval of the rescue partner representative present at the event, after completing the rescue's required adoption process. AWS does not authorize same-day take-homes. Fast Track Pass holders still must complete the rescue's adoption process before leaving with a dog.
